March is Reading Month, So Lets READ!!!
R is for Reading. Our theme this year is pirates. Students will be learning about different types of weather that the pirates may have encountered. They will learn how to use and make maps. The younger students will be researching sea animals that would be seen by pirates with the older students researching actual pirates. Students will also learn about the decks and make up of ships. We will have some special weekly prizes for just being at school and a part of reading month and its activities. The days change so be sure to be here every day. We have a field trip planned for later in the month so parents look for permission slips to come home. Remember that each student has a goal to reach for their pages. Treasure chests will be put up in the hallway for each 100 pages read. Students must reach each of their goals to earn a t-shirt and prize at the end of the month. So READ, READ, READ!

Message for Parents and Inclement Weather
When the Washtucna School District experiences inclement weather (severe snow, rain or ice) and if you feel that it is “unsafe” for your son/daughter to ride the school bus or drive to school, please contact the school in advance to the start of the school day and your son/daughter will receive an excused absence for that day. This excused absence will not be counted against them and assignments can be made up without any problems. Please contact Mr. Wing if you have any questions or concerns.
The Washtucna School District is inviting community
members to be part of our district
Wellness Commitee for the 2017 - 2018 school year.

the course of the current school year.
